| 趣旨 Purpose |
よく知られているように、心理学者マズロー（A. Maslow）の欲求段階説は、人の欲求が自己実現に向かって発展することを示唆していました。政治学者のイングルハート（R.Inglehart）はこの説を応用し、発展した国や社会ほど非物質的な価値観（自由や民主主義など）を重んじるとしました。しかし現在のコロナ禍は、私たちの自由や民主主義の課題をも照らしています。今回のDr. Edward Hoffmanのレクチャーは、 マズローの心理理論から今日の政治・社会のあり方を読み解きます。ご関心のある方はぜひご参加下さい。
As is well known, psychologist A. Maslow's hierarchy theory of needs suggested that people's needs evolve towards self-realization. The political scientist R. Inglehart applied this theory and stated that the more developed a country or society is, the more it values non-material values such as freedom and democracy. However, the current COVID-19 disaster illuminates the challenges to our freedom and democracy. Dr. Edward Hoffman's lecture will provide a fascinating insight into the state of politics and society today, based on Maslow's psychological theory.
