Aria Iwasawa in 1st year of Master's Program is the first Asian to be in Plenary Session "Next Generation Vision for Space Operations" in IAC

61st International Astronautical Congress hosted by International Astronautical Federation was held in Prague, Czech Republic for five days from September 27. Aria Iwasawa in the first year of SDM Master's Program and in Aerospace Intelligent Systems Lab was selected to join the plenary session "Next Generation Vision for Space Operations" with four other participants selected from all over the world to have a panel discussion.
The participants were selected from young engineers and scientists in space exploration field. The selection had several stages, and in the last stages the candidates made a three minute long video in which they reply to the several questions posed by the selection committee. Aria was the first Asian to be selected in the session. She gave a speech as a panelist in the session, then had a discussion with other panelists on space operations. The audience were also involved in the session as they express their opinions and asked questions to the panelists. Aria has also been selected to be in JAXA's program to dispatch students to IAC, and she joined the students program hosted by International Space Education Board to present the space relating research she is working on in the master's program.
