■Purpose of the Essay Examination
The prompts given during the essay examination are designed to elicit responses that will allow the admissions committee to decide whether the applicant is able to approach the given questions from a macro perspective encompassing diverse viewpoints and use logical reasoning skills to think independently.

■How Admissions Decisions are Made

Master's Program:

The Graduate Faculty Board will determine each applicant's suitability for admission to the program after a comprehensive evaluation of all application materials, including the essay examination, oral examination, and application documents. The weight ascribed to each evaluation criterion is set in accordance with the characteristics of each major. Decisions will be made holistically, taking into account the applicant's academic suitability, ability to conduct research, and the strength of their statement of purpose.

Doctoral Program:
