Lectures, students’ presentations, factory/institute visits and discussions. （この授業は、講義、学生の発表と質疑応答、会社訪問から成ります。）Each factory/institute visit consists of four sessions: (1) First session: Students’ short individual presentations with PPTs on the factory/institute to visit from the annual report and other information. Students will come up with questions for the factory/institute visit; （計３回の会社訪問は、授業４回から成り立っています：（１）１回目：各学生は、訪問する企業についての質問、企業で学びたいこと、などについてPPTを使った短い発表を行います。）； (2) and (3) Second and Third sessions: Factory/institute visits. Each visit will constitute two sessions. （（２）と（３）２回目と３回目：会社訪問は、木曜日の連続二コマを使って行います。）；and, (4) Fourth session: Students’ individual reports and short presentations with PPTs on the factory/institute visit with the answers to their questions and what the students learned and observed. （（４）４回目：学生はPPTを使った短い発表を行います。１回目に考えた質問、その企業で学んだこと見聞したことについての自分なりの回答を発表してください。） This cycle will be repeated three times during the semester, totaling 12 sessions. （このサイクルは、１学期間に３回繰り返しますので、計１２回の授業をこれらに充てます。） Remaining three sessions will be on the introduction of the course; information on the factories/institutes to visit; summary of relevant information on the Japanese management culture and final summary of the course.（残りの３回の授業は：授業の説明、訪問先の企業・工場などの説明、日本的経営システムの説明、この授業全体の総括などに充てます。）

In this course, students and the instructor will visit factories, etc. three times during the semester. （この授業では、学生たちと教員は３社の工場などを訪問します。）Each student will gather information on the factory/institute to visit, come up with questions before visiting each factory/institute, and make a short presentation with PPTs. （各学生は、会社訪問の前に、訪問する企業についての情報を集めて分析し、質問、その会社で調べたいことなどについて、PPTを使った短い発表を行います。）After visiting a factory/institute, each student will make a short presentation with PPTs. （会社訪問後、各学生はその企業についてのPPTを使った短い発表を行います。）At the end of the semester, each student will submit a final report. （学期末に最終レポートを提出します。）

The course objective is to visit Japanese factories/institutes and obtain first-hand experience of observing the Japanese management culture. The method will be factory/institute visits as case studies.（この授業の狙いは、日本企業の工場、ショールームなどを訪問して、日本型経営システムについての理解を深めることです。このため、会社訪問をケースとして、訪問前の予習とPPTを使ったプレゼン、訪問、訪問後のレポート作成とPPTを使ったプレゼンを行います。）At the end of the semester, each student will submit a final report.（学期末に最終レポートを提出します。）

0. Report Submission: Submit the reports/PPTs on time and make the presentations on the scheduled day. If your report or presentation is late, the points of your reports/presentations will be subtracted by 1 point for each one day of delay from your semester grade.　If public transport delayed, get a proof of delay (in Japanese “Chien Shoumeisho”（遅延証明書）) in Japanese from the train station or a bus driver and submit it to the instructor. If you were sick, get a medical report (in Japanese “Shindansho” （診断書）in Japanese from a physician and submit it to the instructor. In such a case, there will be no penalty for the delay. 3. Final, short round-up report (A4, double-spaced 2-3 pages per student) of the three factory/institute visit combined. 　The report is due at 20:00 (8 p.m.) on January 24, Thursday, which is one week after the last session by email to the two email addresses of the instructor.（学期末の、３社訪問を含めた授業全体の最終レポート：A4ダブルスペース（一行おきのことです。）で2-3ページ。レポートの提出期限は、最後の授業日の1週間後の1月24日（木）20:00 (8 p.m.)。担当教員の2つのメールアドレスに提出してください。）

4. Factory/Institute Visit: You must come to the SDM Students Lounge on 3F by the designated time for each visit. If you are late, you must go to the factory/institute by your own. The travel instructions will be distributed to all the students one week before the visit. If you are sick or delayed due to the delay of public transport, contact the T/A or instructor immediately for instructions. （企業訪問日には、時間厳守で３階SDMラウンジに集合してください。遅刻した場合は、個人で目的地まで行ってください。行き方の資料は、企業訪問日の１週間前の授業の時に配布します。当日に病気、公共交通機関の遅延などで定刻に来られない時には、T/Aか教員にすぐに連絡して指示を仰いでください。）
If you wish to leave the factory/institute during the visit due to illness, etc. immediately contact the instructor. Do not leave the place without telling the instructor. （もし企業訪問の最中に気分が悪くなったりして早退したい時には、担当教員に必ずすぐ連絡してください。無断で訪問先から退出しないこと。）
5. If you have a conflict with another class and cannot participate in all three factory/institute visits, you can participate one or two factory/institute visits. In such a case your grade will be adjusted with the visits you participate and the final report. In such a case, consult the instructor in the beginning of the semester. （もし、他の授業と重なっていて3つの企業訪問に参加できない時には、1−2の企業訪問だけに参加することができます。その場合は、配点は参加できる企業訪問の事前、事後のPPTを使った発表と最終レポートだけに変更します。そのような場合は、学期の始めにこの科目の担当教員に相談してください。）
